BCI Rentals came to me as a return customer in 2010 with hopes of building a website that was easily maintainable. They were looking to build a custom system where they could list out all available equipment directly on the website. This led me to build them a equipment management system directly tailored to their needs.
To make it easiest for the salespeople in the BCI office I created a standalone MVC structure using PHP. I did not use any pre-existing framework like CakePHP, but rather built my own framework. I decided to do this mainly as a learning experience, so that I could understand MVC better. The framework I built houses a CMS for BCI's construction equipment sales and rentals. They can easily add in new equipment, sort the equipment using jquery drag and drop, as well as add and remove pages inside the website. Also developed a jquery slider plugin where they can upload files to the server and sort them and display them in the main masthead of the site.
On this project, I did the design, front-end/JS, and backend CMS.
