2JZPOWER is a community site for car enthusiasts who are love drag racing and high horsepower. There was no place to keep track of their fastest track times, horsepower figures, and standing mile times other than clunky forum threads. When I got started with them, they were lacking any sort of brand or strategy.
I handled all aspects of the project, including branding / logo design, design concepts, U/X design, backend development, and responsive front end development.
Custom features of the site include a custom charting feature, where a car can have many different times, but only the faster per that exact car is pulled into the chart. This way a user can continually come back and post updates and faster times and the charts will always work accordingly. Once registered a user can post dyno horsepower figures, quarter or eigth mile drag times, and half or full-mile standing mile times. The site also allows users to register and login from the Facebook platform. A fully custom backend was built to handle all functionality, which allows administrators to approve/reject anything posted by users.
The front-end is responsive, and features a sticky main navigation, which changes based on resolution. A "wizard" allows users to easily add their cars, times, and dynos. This provides a unique, flexible user experience for those who frequent the site.
